Corporate disposals of owned real estate in EMEA raised €25.6 billion across more than 700 transactions in 2022, 9% ahead of the 10-year average. This report provides a breakdown of disposals by asset types and geographies, as well as a high-level review of the context for this activity.

Occupiers are facing a confluence of challenging headwinds, including slowing growth, rising costs and supply chain disruption. These challenges all have a direct impact on property requirements and the development of real estate strategies. Our analysis shows that the sale and leaseback of owned properties remain an attractive and viable route to raising capital, providing both considerable operational flexibility as well as an exit route for surplus assets.
